Created in 2020 by the venture builder Technofounders and Prof. Claude Grison, director of the ChimEco laboratory and director of research at the CNRS, BIOINSPIR was founded with the aim of industrializing Ecocatalysis® and thus building a more responsible and sustainable world thanks to a unique and innovative process combining chemistry and ecology.
BIOINSPIR ecocatalysts® are the direct result of the research work of the ChimEco laboratory, directed by Claude Grison, co-founder and scientific director of BIOINSPIR.
To create its ecocatalysts®, BIOINSPIR valorizes invasive plants and depolluting plants. Unexploited, they are a threat to biodiversity and the environment. Invasive exotic plant species are traditionally collected by watershed managers to destroy them and thus control their multiplication. Thanks to partnerships with these actors within a regulated framework, BIOINSPIR exploits these biomasses which are no longer waste, but tools to create molecules according to an environmentally friendly and bioinspired approach.
The plants used by BIOINSPIR are local: they are collected in France around our laboratories.

The climate and ecological crisis is an existential threat. Moreover, metal shortages and the increasing cost associated with energy-intensive and waste-generating processes no longer leave any choice. Organic chemistry processes must be adapted. We must redouble our efforts to collectively abandon conventional catalysts and regenerate nature.
